Oyster Shell Sculpture

Tiered Oyster Shell Hanging Sculpture

A one-of-a-kind coastal hanging sculpture, handcrafted from genuine oyster shells, pearls, crystals, and a rescued vintage frame.

Each oyster shell was individually cleaned, finished with a luminous pearl-white interior, and carefully edged in gold. The original three-tier frame was refinished in a soft champagne metallic, then rebuilt with pearls, clear crystal details, and faceted crystal strands that catch and reflect the light as the piece gently moves.

What began as a Marketplace rescue became a labor-intensive coastal sculpture, with every shell, bead, crystal, connector, and finish thoughtfully placed by hand. The process was time-consuming, but also one of the most enjoyable transformations to come out of the Salt Cottage studio.

Designed as a decorative hanging sculpture, this piece creates subtle movement and a delicate sound when stirred by air, though the oysters and light-catching crystals remain the focus.

Perfect for a covered porch, sunroom, coastal entry, reading nook, or any space that could use an unexpected piece of collected coastal beauty.
